For so many of my adolescent to adult years I compared myself to others. Wishing I looked like this woman, that actress, fitness model, athlete; had their (insert body part), tearing myself apart in the mirror with negative self talk, for what or better yet, who? Why wasn't I good enough for me? Why did I need to look like anyone but me? What was I trying to prove?
One day I decided to give it all up, release the expectations & constraints of social pressures & choose love; choose to fall in love, with me. It took much of my 20's to learn to love the woman I am today, but I am proud of her because I created every little piece of who she is, as an essence & physical body. Buddha said, "what we think, we become"; the mind is a powerful thing.
Change isn't easy; it must be difficult for it to be transformative. It starts with one decision, a commitment to a better version of you. One step, one day, one week, one month, one year at a time. Change is a journey of learning from our failures, rising from the ashes & burning without fear. My hope is that these recipes open you to new possibilities, finding flavorful, healthy alternatives that inspire you to fall in love with you & start eating for a body you love.
